Alan Roy has been a state-licensed CT Arborist since 1982. Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Haven in the fall of 1975 and began working for Millar Tree Service in Glastonbury, CT. Alan became a partner in the business when the owner moved west in 1981. Alan then went on to attend University of New Hampshire Durham courses under Dr Alex Shigo along with his business partner to expand their knowledge of tree biology and tree care. In 1984 the company was sold and Alan became a consulting arborist.
Alan opened ARBORIST SERVICES LLC to support his continued participation in Tree Care. Over the years the company has again redesigned its services to include all aspects of tree care and tree removal. Around 1991 Robert Cesana, formerly of Walgren Tree in Hartford, CT joined the firm.
The company stays abreast of new management practices with minimal uses of pesticide, fungicides and the like. The company offers a “Walk and Talk” educational hour for new customers to learn their property and to understand the needs of their trees. This allows the client to practice their own tree management. Along this line we also offer year long review / inspection programs which manage the clients tree system within a budget and allows for expanded services on an as needed basis.
